As part of our re-branding exercise we approached many local design specialists to select how amberis should be represented. After careful consideration, we selected bd2 in Wigan and were enthused by their passion and professionalism.
Stuart Green, Director at bd2, explains the thought behind our brand.
"The biggest challenge in branding projects is coming up with a completely new name. As if trying to create something original, appropriate, dynamic, evocative and clever wasn’t hard enough, there’s also the question of availability. So just when you think you’ve come up with an award winning concept you find that the name is registered with Companies House, or used already as a trademark or there are no suitable URLs available.
So when specialist ‘after the event’ insurance brokers Parker Colby asked us to come up with ideas for a rebrand for their existing name but also some new ones, we began with brainstorming ideas then researching them to eliminate the no-gos. It was during the workshop stage of our process we identified that there was little recognition in the Parker Colby name in an industry which had been through huge changes due to new regulations. Ultimately the preferred concept as shown uses Amber as a simple analogy for insurance as it encases and protects. It also provides a wealth of beautiful imagery which we’ve used as a theme throughout the brand communications."
